Rewards and payments

Claiming your first reward

Congratulations, you've got your first reward! Here's a step by step process of how you claim it.

Create a billing profile

You can create new billing profile(s) according to the situation that fits you best. This allows you better flexibility to sort out your payment preferences and to manage your accounts. Check out the options:

  • Individuals can create billing profiles without a legal structure, limited to rewards of up to $5,000 per year. If you pass this limit, you will be asked to create a legal structure.
    • However, this does not concern Nigeria nor India! Local residents in Nigeria can go up to $15K and local residents in India can go up to $20K.  Read over here for more info.
  • Self-Employed users with a legal structure can create profiles, but make sure you verified your profile (KYB).
  • Organizations are those that manage a team of contributors with a legal structure, also requiring KYB verification.
  • Employees of organizations can join their employer's billing profile.
💡
Note that organizations will be able to add you under their team, in their billing profile. You as an employee will receive an indication in your billing profile that the team has added you. So make sure to check your billing profile regularly if you are in this category!

Along with your billing profile(s), you are able to:

  • Delete, disable, or leave billing profiles.
  • Manage your payout preferences easily and setup different payout information depending on your profile. If you are a contributor on different open-source projects from different organisations, you can connect each project accordingly.

Fillout the payout information

In order to receive rewards, you will need to fill out your payout preferences. Note that contributors will be paid in the currency of the reward that they received.

1 - Head on over to manage your account (top right) and check out your billing profile(s).

2 - In the payment methods, fill-out all your available wallets information. We strong advise you to fill-out an Ethereum wallet, as it is commonly used, as well as the wallet address of the ecosystem for which you have received a reward. You can also add your account number if you prefer it to be directly into your bank account.

3 - Save it! If you encounter difficulties don't hesitate to ping @blumebee on Telegram.

Request your reward

Once all of the above is set up, go back to your reward tab.

In order to receive your reward, you will need to request payment to receive it.

This in turn will automatically trigger a payment receipt (if you have an individual billing profile via KYC) or an invoice (if you have a Self employed or Organization profile via KYB and you accept our invoice mandate) - keeping things compliant, error free and up to date.

When you make a payment request, you will be able to notify which rewards you want to include or exclude and then go through the process of invoicing (or getting your receipt).

For more information regarding "invoicing & taxes", please visit the previous post.

💡
Kindly note that for invoicing purposes, the exchange rate applied must be the one from the date the tokens were officially granted as rewards on the platform. This is a mandated accounting and legal guideline. Therefore, the applicable exchange rate is not influenced by the date the invoice is issued or the date payment is received.

Payments are made twice a week and can take up to five days to reach you, if you have provided a bank account.
