Step 1: Contribute to Open-Source Projects on OnlyDust
Begin by building your reputation by contributing to open-source projects on OnlyDust.
Not only will this help you build more skills and experience, but the more you contribute, the more visibility you will gain. Here’s how to do it:
- Apply so that we can guide you through.
- Choose a Project: Browse our platform to find a project that resonates with you.
- Introduce Yourself: Join the project's Telegram group and make your presence known.
- Dive into the Code: Analyze the codebase, take up an issue, or propose new ideas.
- Seek Feedback: Don’t hesitate to ask for feedback on your contributions.
- Earn Rewards: Impress with your skills and get rewarded (if eligible). Rinse and repeat.
Boost your entry odds to a program
Step 2: Showcase your achievements to our CEO
After dedicating time to developing your skills and building your portfolio, it’s time to present your work to Greg (our CEO). Reach out to him via Telegram with your user profile. He will personally review your progress and introduce you to the next steps of the challenge, i.e. put your in contact with the fellowship programs that best suit your profile.
You will then go through the program's selection process, but imagine Greg as your personal 'sorting hat,' placing you in the right 'house' for your skills 😉.
Each program has its methodology for nurturing core developers (more details below). During this phase, participants gain access to mentors, community support, and engaging projects.

The programs
And now, onto the fellowship programs. We are collaborating with the best ones in the blockchain ecosystem that have a proven track record and offer incentives. Below is an overview of each.
Ethereum Protocol Fellowship
This program is cohort based. It will deep dive into protocol development, work-in client implementations, testing and core ecosystem. It offers an opportunity to work with client developers and to try out real challenges of core development. The program is ideal for people with advanced knowledge of Ethereum internals and skills in low level languages. Here’s what you can expect when you are selected:
- Duration: 5 months.
- Support: Community support and mentorship, plus a possible monthly stipend.
- Features: Weekly calls, mentorship, self determined projects, demo days, optional meetups, and initial guidance.
- Stages: A shorter period for researching a topic, main part is dedicated to work on the project
- Interaction: Regular "stand up" meetings and AMAs with mentors
- Stipend: Financial support to focus on the program for selected fellows, with some candidates receiving funding from the start.
Nethermind Internship Program
This internship offers an immersive experience into Ethereum's and Starknet's core workings, allowing for substantial contributions to its evolution. Look forward to:
- Duration: 1-3 months, but usually interns choose to stay for the full 3 months.
- Autonomy: Freedom to choose projects, develop specific skills, and select teams.
- Focus Areas: Blockchain Core Engineering, L2 Tooling, Cryptography Research, Protocol Research, DeFi Research, Security, DevOps, Dapps, and Enterprise Engineering.
- Experience: Hands-on involvement in various aspects of Ethereum technology.
- Learning Environment: Opportunity to engage deeply with Ethereum's functionalities and contribute through challenging projects.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship, providing financial support throughout the program.
Lambda Sparkling Water Bootcamp
This Bootcamp is an intensive exploration into cryptography and blockchain technology, providing a unique opportunity for hands-on learning and development. Here’s what’s in store for you:
- Duration: The bootcamp runs for around 10 weeks, with a structured curriculum covering various aspects of cryptography and blockchain development.
- Curriculum: Each week focuses on a different theme, including Finite Fields, Elliptic Curves, Polynomials, STARKs, Symmetric Encryption, Interactive Proofs, SNARKs, and more.
- Features: The program includes a blend of recommended readings, practical exercises, and challenges. Topics range from implementing cryptographic protocols to elliptic curve operations.
- Interaction: Participants are encouraged to collaborate and engage with mentors and peers, fostering a community-driven learning environment.
- Learning Approach: Emphasis on practical implementation and problem-solving, with resources and guidance provided for each topic.
- Support: The program offers financial support throughout the duration.
